When Linda Bingman was diagnosed with mesothelioma she was floored. Families and doctors alike were shocked by the diagnosis. She was urged by her surgeon in Springfield, Missouri to get a second opinion. Her daughter, Kelly, began doing her own research into doctors that treated mesothelioma and during her search Dr. David Sugarbaker’s name kept appearing. The Bingmans decided to come to the Mesothelioma Treatment Center in Houston Texas for a second opinion.
Linda had an initial consultation, where Dr. Sugarbaker recommended she undergo an aggressive surgery known as a pleurectomy decortication, a removal of the lining on the lung. In addition to her surgical treatment it was also recommended that Linda undergo chemotherapy. After a trying recovery process Linda continued to process and now nearly two years later she is doing very well.
