We accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and United Healthcare. We also accept some generic plans, some HMOs with referrals, and out-of-network benefits.
All surgeries are performed in the Texas Medical Center, at our affiliated hospital, CHI St. Luke's Health–Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center. It is connected to our clinic via a sky bridge.
Dr. David J. Sugarbaker moved his practice to Houston and Baylor College of Medicine in July 2014. Prior to the founding of the Mesothelioma Treatment Center in the Texas Medical Center, Dr. Sugarbaker and his colleagues practiced medicine at Brigham Women’s Hospital. Together they bring more than 50 years of experience and specialty in pleural mesothelioma surgery, treatment, and research.
We have maps available on the website as well as in the clinic to help you find your way around the Texas Medical Center. You can also contact our MTC Patient Navigator Shelby Joran.
Houston is gaining a reputation as a dining mecca, with restaurants of nearly every cuisine you can imagine. You will find a number of new and familiar places to eat within walking distance of the clinic. Many more are within one or two stops on the MetroRail, which is located just one block away from the clinic.
If the physicians order any other testing, it will likely be done at Baylor Clinic or at a separate imaging facility. If it is necessary for you to go to a separate facility, our schedulers will help you arrange the appointment and provide you with directions to the facility.
Lodging is a very important part of your visit, and for that reason we have identified an array of options for lodging in the Texas Medical Center area. You can visit the Planning Your Trip page for more information, or contact our Patient Navigator Shelby Joran, at (713) 798-9159.
